Meredith & Scott: A Church, a Lake, and a Winery by Bolla Photo

Meredith and Scott’s engagement session last fall at Kaeser Park and Silver Lake Park in Highland yielded some of my all-time favorite photos (see below). I was thrilled we would be returning to Silver Lake Park for their wedding photos, as well. And I was by no means disappointed.  More new favorites (see above)!

These two are just too adorable! While sitting and getting her hair done by the talented Carla of the Mane Attraction, Meredith texted back and forth with Scott:
“Are you ready for this?”
“Well of course! You?”
“I’m so ready!”

From Silver Lake Park we all headed to the reception at Hidden Lake Winery, but not before stopping for some photos under the vine-covered trellis. After dinner, we even snuck back outside for some more photos. The setting sun provided the ideal warm glow, and then…the most perfect purple skies for a silhouette of the new couple. (Yup another fave!)

Congratulations, Meredith and Scott!

Melissa and Alex 10.12.13 by Bolla Photo

Melissa and Alex have already been together as a couple for a decade, ever since Homecoming their freshman year of high school in 2003. Anyone who spends any amount of time with them can see the fun and sweet love they share, which was reflected in their wedding day.

The bride wore fabulously green Poetic License pumps. The groom and his groomsmen donned Pokemon Pokeball cuff links. Their wedding stationery (and website) had 8-bit hearts, and their Save-the-Dates also featured an 8-bit bride and groom! They cut their wedding cake with the Master Sword from The Legend of Zelda. And the groom’s cake was shaped like a Gameboy, complete with a screen showing the lyrics to “The Bolero of Fire,” a song from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.

"It is something that grows over time... a true friendship. A feeling in the heart that becomes even stronger over time... The passion of friendship will soon blossom into a righteous power and through it, you know which way to go...”

Congratulations, Melissa and Alex! Wishing you many more decades of making each other smile.

Lauren and Travis 06.09.12 by Bolla Photo

Travis and Lauren’s wedding day was a day of fun and celebrating.  After a traditional Catholic mass, Lauren and Travis hopped on a party bus with their bridal party and went to Tri-Township Park in Troy for a few photos.  Next stop was Silver Lake Park in Highland, where Travis’ brother, Tyler, had arranged to surprise Travis with the family company’s truck for some more photos.

After that was a definite first for me…the bride and groom decided to crash Switzer Fest in downtown Highland, where they had their first official dance as husband and wife.  Lauren and Travis continued to stroll through the festival with their entourage, enjoying the live music, a funnel cake, and even the Super Slide!

Then it was time for their own party, full of personal details including a tractor ice sculpture and their names and monogram on the front doors, above the head table and even on the dance floor. When it came time for the speeches, the couple’s siblings all took different approaches.  Tyler gave Travis a gift so that he’d never forget his wedding date, Kristi gave an emotional speech that brought Lauren to tears, and Rachel finished by “rick rolling” Lauren and Travis.  The couple danced the night away with their son Devin to live music of the country-rock band, The Glendale Riders.

Congratulations again, Lauren and Travis!  And may the words of Rick Astley always prove true for you.

“Never gonna give you up
Never gonna let you down
Never gonna run around and desert you
Never gonna make you cry
Never gonna say goodbye
Never gonna tell a lie and hurt you”
